Final call for exhibitors to apply for The North East Dog Festival
Final call for exhibitors to apply for The North East Dog Festival
June is the last month for exhibitors to apply for this year's North East Dog Festival; taking place over the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September the event will showcase all there is to love about dogs; with thousands of dogs and their owners expected. The festival will take place at Northumberland College’s Kirkley Hall Campus in Ponteland, a specialist animal and land-based training venue that is perfect for the scale of the event.
Festival directors Rebecca Ashworth Earle and Dawn Oliver Doyle commented; “Exhibitors are one of the most important aspects of our event; many of the thousands of visitors come to shop and when it comes to spending money on dogs there really is no budget! Feedback from our previous events showed many stayed all day enjoying the food and drink on offer and buying from the wonderful businesses we have in the region. The great thing about our visitor demographic is that businesses don’t have to be dog related to do well; and we’ve kept pricing reasonable to reflect the tough time many have had over the last 18 months, for some this may be their first event of the year and we plan to make it as big as possible!”
Over the weekend dogs will be able to try their paw at everything from whippet racing to gundog scurries and even hoopers. There is also the chance to win prizes in games like Fastest Recall and Temptation Alley. The main ring will welcome crowd favourites like flyball and sheep herding whilst the wellness tent will welcome expert speakers on topics ranging from dog behaviour to dog nutrition, offering visitors the opportunity to gain knowledge in a number of subjects.
Three charity dog shows will have classes in everything from Most Handsome Dog to the Best Biscuit Catcher with lots of amazing prizes - not to mention the chance to go forward to win the coveted North East Dog Festival Best In Show.
Everyone is welcome at the event, even if you don’t own a dog you can enjoy a weekend of displays, shopping, demonstrations, seminars and even a funfair.
Trade stand applications are also welcomed for the 2021 event. Visit the website for more information www.northeastdogfestival.com
